The McCloud River is a spring-fed system that supports a premier trout fishery. The river is subject to flows dictated by hydropower infrastructure. Our objectives are:
- Protect and enhance hydrological and ecological processes to sustain the long-term health of the McCloud River rainbow trout
- To determine the feasibility of reintroduction of salmon, steelhead and the extinct bull trout to the McCloud River above Shasta and McCloud dams
We will do this by:
- Protecting and restoring habitat
- Re-establishing natural flow hydrographs to maintain healthy fish populations (in the context of modern flows)
