Today, many of the 63 tributaries flowing into Lake Tahoe are not being monitored for basic water quality and habitat parameters. CalTrout established the Streamkeeper Stewardship Program to help get local participation through the collection of this missing data. Our objective is to grow this program, and thus, expand our monitoring parameters.
To realize this, we will:
- Continue to monitor water quality and habitat parameters of Lake Tahoe
- Engage with a more diverse group of partners to assess how our group can expand our data collection in a meaningful way
- Continue to conduct outreach events to double our volunteer base
