Aquatic Species Conservation Strategies

Our National Forests are home to many watersheds and fisheries that face obstacles that threaten their health, namely logging. Our goal is to ensure the long-term viability of native fish species within the Sierra Nevada National Forests. To this end, we will:

  • Develop Conservation Strategies for native trout in the Sierra Nevada and at least three Conservation Strategies for other resident aquatic species
  • Ensure that the revised National Forest Management Plans adequately address the needs of target aquatic species
