Projects/Programs

The following projects are currently part of the Coalition’s work:

San Juan/Trabuco Creeks

  • CalTrout is planning to work with the U.S. Forest Service to remove fish passage barriers in Trabuco Creek.
  • CalTrout’s main Coalition partner, Trout Unlimited, has been working for decades to remove barriers in the lower watershed.

San Mateo Creeks

  • CalTrout is also planning to work with U.S. Forest Service to remove an Arizona-style crossing on Los Alamos Creek—which flows into San Mateo—and replace it with a bridge that would allow full fish passage.

Santa Margarita

  • CalTrout is partnering with SDSU, manager of the Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve, to remove non-native aquatic species from the Santa Margarita Wateshed.

San Luis Rey

  • CalTrout has partnered with Golden State Flycasters and San Diego Coastkeeper to continue and increase water quality testing along the San Luis Rey River.
