Project Description

Advancing the Sierra Meadows Strategy, CalTrout completed a Golden Trout Wilderness meadows assessment and prioritization. In the next phase of this project, we’re working with Inyo National Forest and other partners to pursue funding that will complete condition assessments under the Wetland Riparian Area Monitoring Plan (WRAMP), and advance restoration designs, planning and permitting for Monache Meadow and other critical meadows in the Golden Trout Wilderness. The project goal is to restore the ecological health and resilience of meadows and native Golden trout populations within the Golden Trout Wilderness.
