Drop in and join the Santa Barbara Urban Creeks Collective and CalTrout for hands-on fly casting lessons and Q&A about local clean water reclamation and steelhead conservation efforts.
Fly fishing is just fun! Outdoors, in beautiful settings, in a sport to engage great fish, fly fishing is a mixture of awe, exercise, geometry and physics (the easy kind), and exposure to the wonders of nature. NO prior experience needed!
ALL equipment will be provided. NO hooks or dangerous instruments will be used. We welcome people of all experience levels (from complete novice, through any level of accomplished fisher persons). Primary rods taught will be “single-handed,” with an opportunity to learn “spey rod” casting (two handed) for interested parties.
CalTrout’s Russell Marlow will discuss CalTrout’s exciting projects in SoCal, particularly those in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
