Join Surfrider LA and California Trout during LA Climate Week to learn about an exciting urban watershed transformation and climate resilience project happening right in Malibu’s backyard!
During this event, we will gather at Malibu Lagoon to hear from California Trout and Surfrider LA about the Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project. You will learn about Southern California’s iconic but endangered native fish, the Southern steelhead, their place in our local LA ecosystems, and how climate change and urban infrastructure are impacting their historic habitat.
We will share exciting updates about the dam removal and habitat restoration project currently taking place on Malibu Creek to help these fish and revive an entire ecosystem — and what you can do to support the survival of these vulnerable critters! After, we’ll work together to remove any trash found throughout the lagoon, doing our part to support a healthy ecosystem for both our human and non-human communities. See you there! RSVP here.
