Fish Water People Film Festival

Hosted by California Trout

We want YOU to submit a film for the inaugural Fish Water People Film Festival hosted by CalTrout!

We’re seeking high energy, inspiring short films that bring to life the stories of California’s native fish, fishing and water recreation traditions, water resources, environmental landscapes, and the communities that thrive alongside them.

This festival celebrates the profound connections between people and water. Through storytelling, we are excited to unite communities around our shared love and appreciation for California’s landscapes and drive further environmental awareness.  We invite you to join our mission by submitting your film for consideration for the Fish Water People Film Festival. In this inaugural year we won't be able to offer monetary compensation, but we are able to offer a suite of incentives including CalTout gear, exclusive fishing trips, and in-person experiences. Selected filmmakers will also gain in addition to access to CalTrout's highly supportive community of conservation changemakers and supporters. As we market the festival, filmmakers will gain exposure through our 39,000 social media followers. We are committed to building lasting relationships with filmmakers, providing meaningful support and partnership as your work and our festival grow together.
