Check out the new interpretative panels about Lahontan cutthroat trout in the Walker Basin. CalTrout’s Eastern Sierra office just put the finishing touches on the project last week with support from the Department of Fish and Wildlife and National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
Next time you’re fishing the East Walker River be sure to have a look!
Is government wasting time in bringing back Lahontan Cuts to the E Walker? Seems to me that cuts don’t have the water quality or cold “enough” water to survive. Plus they may not compete with the rainbow and brown trout.
Lahontan cuts should not be brought back in areas where their restoration would involve the removal of great brown and/or rainbow populations.
