With our "round up" program, you can automatically round up your credit card purchases to the nearest dollar, and send your change to CalTrout as a monthly donation.

How it Works

  1. Sign up and connect your debit/credit card using the button below.
  2. All card purchases are rounded up to the nearest dollar.
  3. Change accumulates each month in your Round Up account, and is then donated to CalTrout as a a single, tax-deductible donation charged to your credit card.

FAQ

1What are "Round Ups"?
A "Round Up" is the term we use to describe the spare change captured from automatically rounding up your transactions to the next dollar. For example, if you bought a coffee for $2.43 using your connected credit/debit card, we would add 57 cents to your Round Ups account (created by you when you sign up).
2Does my change get donated immediately after every purchase?
No. In order to reduce credit/debit processing fees, and to avoid filling your monthly debit/credit card statements with numerous transactions, the change from your transactions is instead accumulated each month in your Round Up account (created during the signup process) and then charged once per month as a donation to CalTrout. This keeps the accounting simple and ensures that as much of your Round-Up donation as possible goes to CalTrout, rather than bank/credit card fees.
3Can I set a maximum that I want to round up each month?
Yes. During the initial setup (or at any time in the future), you can set a "Monthly Limit" on how much you want to donate via Round-Ups so you can give comfortably.
4When will my first Round Up show up?
Transactions from your bank/credit card account will post to your Round Up account approximately 4-6 times a day. Depending on your banking institution, multiple transactions may be posted to your bank account all at once. If this happens, we will take the sum of the change from each transaction and post it to your Round Up page as a single transaction.
5Why do you need my bank login information?
Logging in and selecting the account (card) you want to connect is required as it authorizes us to receive transaction updates to determine your Round Ups. You are interfacing directly with your institution. We DO NOT touch, receive or handle ANY of your login credentials. That information is encrypted by your institution and heavily protected using bank-level security protocol.
6Is my sensitive information safe?
YES! We DO NOT see or receive ANY of your login information. Your username and password is protected by your card provider and inaccessible to us or anyone else.
