Blown Out of the Water

A word from CalTrout’s ED, Curtis Knight

We weren’t sure what to expect going into our Trout Camp Live event. With the CalTrout community by our side for our first-ever virtual gala, we have over 2,700 views to date tuned into watch the event and raised over $825,000 for California’s conservation efforts, including over $360,000 to the Future Generations Fund-a-Need! We are extremely grateful to our supporters for being there with us during these challenging times.

Through this monumental event, our projects and restoration goals for California are propelled forward. These contributions fund the science, planning, and development phases of large restoration projects that we successfully leverage into larger public grants – over $20M in the last year alone. It’s your generosity that fuels meaningful work to build and leave a better California for generations to come. We are fortunate to have members like you who share this conservation ethos.

So thanks to you we are on a strong financial footing for our fiscal year ahead that starts July 1.  Our large restoration projects are all on track. We are also being very conservative in our financial planning.  Even though we have a strong tailwind we know how uncertain these times are and are building in contingencies depending on how future funding plays out.  But for now, it’s all systems go!

I hope you’ll take a moment to check out this inspiring video that shows some of the projects, people, and partnerships that exemplify CalTrout’s recent successes.

With gratitude,

CURTIS SIG
