A community celebration of the Eel River watershed
CalTrout is excited to partner with the Rotary Club of Eureka to host the first ever Eel River Expo: A Source to Sea Community Event! This year marks a major milestone for the Eel River watershed as Phase 2 of the Eel River Watershed Restoration and Conservation Program kicks off and the Potter Valley Project (including two dams) nears decommissioning. To commemorate this epic year of watershed renewal we’re excited to celebrate with the community.
The Expo is a free community event, as a part of the Eel River Forum series, that will center around family activities, brief presentations from keynote speakers, and informal presentations from local scientists and other watershed experts at activity booths. Although this is a free event, we do ask that you register in advance by clicking on the registration button below.
We invite you to join us! In addition to attending the Expo, there are many ways to participate in the event.
How you can participate in the Eel River Expo:
- Attend the free event and meet local restoration groups, researchers, biologists, and scientists. Register to attend here.
- Share the event flyer via email with your community and networks.
- Share this opportunity with students who may like to participate/attend.
- Submit photos to the Eel River Photo Contest (contest runs Jan 15 - March 31).
- Help us pick the grand prize photo contest winner by voting in person at the event.
- If you are a student, submit a request to present a poster about research or other work in the Eel River watershed in the Emerging Scientists poster session. Please email cdavis@caltrout.org for more information about the poster session.
