Matt is an avid steelhead angler and has been a member of CalTrout’s team on the North Coast since 2016. A 20 year resident of the area, Matt has both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Fisheries Biology from Humboldt State University. He has explored hundreds of miles of local streams, giving him a “from-the-river” perspective of the issues facing our salmonids. Matt’s primary interest is in monitoring salmonid populations and informing his fellow anglers of their favorite fishes’ plight. You are likely to run into Matt if you spend any time fishing on North Coast rivers.
