Last week, CalTrout helped cohost the Mammoth Lakes Basin Clean Up and 85 volunteers showed up to collect 75 lbs of trash over 12 miles! This annual event is hosted by the Mammoth Lakes Trail System along with the Mammoth Lakes Tourism as part of the Great Sierra River Clean up.
An additional 401 yards of fishing line was recycled, 50 bags of dog poo picked up, and thousands of small pieces of garbage including cigarette butts, bottles, bags, plastic, and more.

CalTrout is proud to engage with the local Mammoth community and keep our natural places pristine and in clean condition. Be sure to pack out all your trash and visiting these wild and scenic places and help us keep the trails clean.
If you missed this year’s event, check back next year!
