Dr. Jeffrey Mount is a Senior Fellow with the Public Policy Institute of California Water Policy Center. He is the Founding Director of the UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. During his long career Jeff has published widely on earth history and the science and management of rivers, including his award-winning book, California Rivers and Streams (UC Press).
Jeff has a long association with CalTrout, having worked closely with them on California river issues. He helped forge the close relationship between CalTrout and the science programs at UC Davis. He is, by his own admission, a barely adequate fisherman, but a more than adequate paddler devoted to inspiring people to love their rivers in many ways.
