The calls for the removal of Stanford University’s Searsville Dam seem to be multiplying. The 65′ high dam — built in the late 1890s — has lost over 90% of its capacity to silt, and calls to restore the San Francisquito Creek watershed to its former glory as a steelhead stream are coming from luminaries like Patagonia founder Yvon Chounaird.
