This November 2021, California Trout received the highest rating of four stars from Charity Navigator, the largest independent charity evaluator in the country. This rating recognizes CalTrout’s adherence to sector best practices and our execution of our mission in a financially responsible way.
There are over 1.5 million charities throughout the United States, and Charity Navigator aims to highlight organizations that are most efficient and transparent. With a database of over 9,000 individual non-profit organizations, Charity Navigator’s ratings give donors confidence in the philanthropic decisions that they make.
Charity Navigator evaluates ten times more charities than the next nearest competitor and currently attracts more visitors to their website than all other charity rating groups combined. Approximately only a quarter of non-profit organizations rated by Charity Navigator have received the 4-star distinction, indicating that California Trout exceeds industry standards and outperforms most organizations in our area of work.
“At California Trout, we are proud of our strong financial health, accountability, and transparency, and the recognition we have received through this 4-star rating. It demonstrates to the public that we are a trustworthy organization,” says Chief Administrative Officer Alan Roesberry. “When people choose to donate to us, they can feel confident that their donation is put to use in a fiscally responsible and ethical way for the benefit of fish, water, and people.”
