As wildfires continue to threaten California’s fish, water, and people, the need for legislative protection is as critical now as ever. Over the past few weeks, we have shared our history of leveraging legislation and advocacy as a means of conservation, as well as actions you can take now to Protect the Best for future generations to come.
In case you missed it, below are three ways you can take action with CalTrout to support dam removal, and protect wild and scenic rivers and public lands.
Thank you for your support. Together, we can ensure resilient wild fish thrive in healthy waters, for a better California. Donate today to Protect the Best.

Klamath Dams – Tell PacfiCorp to Bring the Salmon Home
More than 90 organizations, including tribal nations, support the removal of the disastrous Klamath Dams. Add your name to our letter to send a message to PacifCorp and Berkshire Hathaway to help struggling Klamath Communities and protect future generations.

The issue of raising Shasta Dam has recently recirculated, and once again CalTrout remains in fervent opposition. This project is a bad idea for fish, water, and people, and we need your help to stop it. Please send a letter today to the Bureau of Reclamation and tell them you oppose this plan. Last day to submit is October 5th.

Send a letter to your House Representative to voice your support and help protect over 1 million acres of our precious California landscapes.
