The Bagley wildfire burning around the Lower McCloud River seems to be coming under control (the river itself served as the primary firebreak), but access to the river is still largely closed.
Firefighters are now turning their efforts to mitigation of the damage caused by bulldozed firelines (from the incident page):
Concentrate on suppression repair efforts to minimize future sediment issues due to runoff into the McCloud River corridor.

We plan to keep abreast of any mitigation plans on the Lower McCloud.
New Wildfire Erupts on Upper Sacramento River
The Ward fire is burning near the Upper Sacramento River (very near the Simms campground), and while access to most of the river remains intact, smoke is making the drive along I5 a little dicey in places.
Currently 42% contained, the Ward fire has consumed almost 500 acres.
Be sure to check the fire incident page here, and we’ll keep you updated.
