Walker Creek Outreach and Education Program

The Walker Creek Outreach and Education Program is a partnership between CalTrout, Walker Creek Ranch Outdoor School and Conference Center, Marin County Office of Education, and UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences. CalTrout has been working with partners to establish stream temperature, habitat, and salmon migration monitoring to better understand the endangered coho salmon population in Walker Creek. In 2023, we supported initiation of salmon-focused curriculum for students attending the Outdoor School in Winter 2023 as the focal point for creek field studies by providing scientific equipment, training, educational resources, and support. The information students collect helps inform ongoing management, monitoring, research, and restoration at Walker Creek Ranch.
