Lauren Marie Taylor

Lauren Marie Taylor

Stanford University Bill Lane Center Intern

Biography

Originally from Kentucky, Lauren spent much of her childhood playing in the creek in her backyard with her siblings.  She developed a deep appreciation for this little backyard ecosystem and then ecosystems in general, which led her to study ecology and evolution at Stanford University.  She is also pursuing a data science minor as her career goal is to utilize data analysis to figure out how to accomplish conservation goals.  She is thrilled to be working with CalTrout this summer through the Bill Lane Center for the American West internship program on the source water initiative as it allows her to do just that.  In her free time, she can be found exploring the lakes and streams around Mount Shasta, baking, and trying to convince her friends in the Bay Area to make the drive up to Mount Shasta to explore with her.
