North Coast · Eel River DAM REMOVAL
The Eel River is on track to be California’s longest free-flowing river.
At CalTrout, we believe free-flowing rivers are best at supporting both fish and people. We are at the forefront of the effort to remove the Eel River dams — and the effort is rooted in science, backed by advocacy, and powered by partnership.
With dam removal on the horizon, the Eel River is poised to become California’s longest free-flowing river — reconnecting salmon and steelhead with nearly 300 miles of cold-water habitat.
