Biography

Chef Loretta Keller is one of San Francisco’s preeminent chefs. Loretta originally opened Bizou, south of Market in 1993, and then transformed the space and menu in 2005 into COCO500, a San Francisco Chronicle’s “Top 100” restaurant. Nominated for the James Beard Award in 2009 Best Chef in California/Pacific region, Loretta began her San Francisco career at Jeremiah Towers’ revolutionary Stars. Priding herself on tying her cuisine to nature and the natural world, Keller has long been known for sourcing local, organic ingredients for her fresh, soulful and beautifully executed Mediterranean dishes.
