Molly Ancel

Outreach & Education Manager

Biography

Molly joined CalTrout in 2021 as our Outreach and Education Manager. Her responsibilities include working to expand CalTrout’s partner base, tending to current partnerships, and continuing to connect CalTrout’s conservation work to the human communities that live in those places. She is passionate about youth involvement and is excited to develop more collaborative initiatives to support our next generation to get involved with this work.

Molly’s academic background is in Indigenous studies, and her professional experience is in education and programming. She previously co-developed, facilitated, and trained staff on ecology-based programming for Bay Area youth, including fishing and tidal ecology-based programming. Shortly after that she moved to the mountains of Southern California to take on a role where she developed and directed programming on sustainable agriculture, and led local youth outreach initiatives with a focus on rural community justice.

In her free time, you can catch Molly fishing & swimming in California’s many waterways, exploring forgotten reservoirs, and tinkering with her old Toyota truck named Little Red.
